About the JBASF Law Student Scholarship
 The Jewish Bar Association of San Francisco (JBASF) Scholarship will provide one-time, $5000 scholarships to students at Bay Area law schools whose upcoming summer work at a non-profit, government, or academic organization will include a focus on issues related to the Jewish community. The number of scholarships will depend on the number and quality of applications. 
Applications for the 2025 JBASF Scholarship are now closed. See below for more information on the timeline, eligibility, selection criteria, and other information for the 2025 Scholarship.

Timeline for 2026 Scholarship 
  • May 1, 2026                      Application deadline
  • May 14-15, 2026               Finalists interviewed via videoconference
  • May 29, 2026                     Scholarship recipients notified
  • Fall 2026:  Scholarship recipients complete 1-page description of their workand/or discuss their work during a JBASF webcast. 
 Eligibility 
  • Law students of any faith; 
  • Who are attending Berkeley Law, McGeorge School of Law, Stanford Law School, Santa Clara University School of Law, UC Davis School of Law, UC Law San Francisco, or University of San Francisco School of Law; and 
  • Whose upcoming summer work at a non-profit, government, or academic organization will include a focus on issues related to the Jewish community. 
 
Selection Criteria 
  • The JBASF will consider a combination of factors, including the applicant’s relevant summer work, leadership and community involvement, academic merit, and financial need. 
 
To Apply 
  • Fill out the application form here by May 1, 2026. 
  • The application requests your name, contact information, law school, expected graduation year, employer for summer 2026, explanation of financial need (optional), resume, and a description of your relevant upcoming summer work.
